Hart is located approximately six miles inland from Lake Michigan, half way between Muskegon & Ludington on the western side of the state. This close proximity to Lake Michigan gives visitors and residents the opportunity to enjoy the natural resources of the great outdoors.

We are a four seasons community where you can enjoy spring bike rides and hikes, summer walks on the beach, fall color tours or winter snowmobiling and ice fishing. You can always find something to do or see in the “Hart” of Oceana County at any time of the year!

Main Street Events - City of Hart

The Hart-Pentwater Winterfest is back and better than ever! Hart Main Street has paired up with the Pentwater Chamber of Commerce to bring you two weekends full of fun activities. This year Hart will host an all-sports weekend on February 17-18. Friday night we will kick off with the 1st Annual Friday Night Lights Broomball Tournament. Schooners Island Bar & Grill will host pre & post party for participants and spectators. The winner of the Friday Night Lights Tournament will play for the Winterfest Championship in Pentwater at 12pm the next day. Download a Broomball registration form here, it is FREE!

Also new this year is X-Country Skiing at John Gurney Park & Snow-Putt Golf on the Courthouse Lawn. On Saturday head to John Gurney from 12pm-4pm to enjoy some freshly groomed trails, cookies, hot drinks and a fire at the trailhead. The fun doesn't’t stop there, head downtown to the Courthouse lawn between 1-4pm to play a game of Snow-Putt Golf. Holes will be designed by local design teams. Play a game of snow-putt golf for FREE! Hole in one prizes, music and fun! Interested in designing a hole? Participate in the hole design competition for a chance to win $100! Last but not least, participate in the 2nd Annual Hart Lake Ice Fishing Tournament. This year’s tournament will offer three competitions: Longest fish Pike/Walleye, Longest Pan Fish, and Youth Longest fish of any species The event also falls on Free Fishing Day thus NO Fishing License Required! Awards Ceremony immediately following at Schooner’s Island Bar & Grill. Cash prizes and 1st Place trophies for adult completion, 1st -3rd place trophies for the youth. Pre-register for the 2nd Annual Hart Lake Ice Fishing Tournament here or register in person at Country Boy Bait & Tackle. Event day registration available at the Hart Main Street Office (49 S.
