MICHIGAN MAIN STREET PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Hart is a local agency in Oceana County, and
WHEREAS, the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) sponsors the Michigan Main Street program which is designed to assist local governments to revitalize their downtowns, and
WHEREAS, the City entered the Main Street Associate Level in August, 2009, and
WHEREAS, the City of Hart has completed the Associate Level requirements and is eligible to apply for Selected Level, and
WHEREAS, MSHDA requests that the City file a “letter of interest” to apply for “Selected Level” status by March 5, 2010, and
WHEREAS, the Main Street Program is a proven four-point approach to revitalize downtowns, and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Hart to request admission into the Michigan Main Street Program “Selected Level”;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL
Authorizes and directs the Mayor to prepare, sign, and send a letter of interest to the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to apply for the Michigan Main Street Program Selected Level.
